From my first enquiry with him in mid August 2019, to my collection of the car in late October 2019, I had a great time working with Richie on the purchase of my car. My wife and I wanted a reliable and modern German car that would suit our small family’s needs. In early 2016 we were aiming for a 2015 BMW. After letting Richard know our requirements and wishes, he soon provided a couple of options. We did not commit to the first options as we insisted on our specifications. Our patience paid off. Richard got us a car with an odometer reading of less than 3000 KMs.

The car feels brand new, not a scratch and it is all we wanted. The paperwork was not easy (and not in English) but Richard took care of that, together with the colleagues in my office.

Richard is a master of navigating the official channels. He will answer all your questions and give you a precise time frame for the delivery. Unlike some other dealers we inquired about, he is patient, honest, available, attentive and very friendly.

The Second hand car market in Bangkok can be a nightmare. When I arrived in Thailand, I quickly realized that I would need an inexpensive and efficient used car for personal town running as well as the occasional trip to the countryside. After several painful visits to second hand car dealers around Bangkok (Language difficulties and overpriced cars). I heard of Diplomatic Privileged Vehicles (DPV). I met Richard and I gave him my specifications. With some general advice from him, I settled on a Honda Accord, I was in communication with Richard throughout the entire process, handled everything after that. The process was pretty straight forward and my gleaming grey car arrived at the office without my having to set foot at the port. My Thai office colleagues helped with the required documentation. I would not hesitate to recommend DPV for a hassle-free import of a duty free car.

Let me start by saying that if you are planning to import a car into Thailand, you simply cannot go wrong with DPV. I think I was a difficult customer as I was very particular in terms of what I wanted. Richard dealt with my case as if he were getting a car for himself. In the end, the car that he procured for me (BMW 5 series) is as good as new and much more than what I had expected. Besides the quality of the car, Richard and team took care of all the paper work for me and I did not have to worry about any bureaucratic hassles. I have used DPV’s services to buy and import a car from Japan, just like you are planning to. DPV was reccommended to me by several colleagues who used their services. I have to say that Richard and his team delivered on all agreed points and provided very good service throughout the whole process.

Since the first contact with Richard, it was a smooth and an open communication. He was very patient with me, because I was not sure what type/age of car I wanted, but once we agreed on it (as well as the price), things moved rather quickly. This is an important element, because you’ll have only six months to import a car, according to the local regulations.

He consulted me on several occasions before we finally agreed which one to buy. As you may know already, bureaucracy in Thailand is very complicated and I wouldn’t have been able to pull this one out on my own, for sure. Therefore, it was grest to have the car delivered at my home address and having to deal with the registration only. In addition, DPV gives a limited guarantee on the cars they buy for you, so that is another added value you may get if doing business with them.
Most importantly, DPV does business based on trust, so in my experience, this was confirmed 100%!

After moving to Bangkok I considered a few options for purchasing a new car. After speaking with Richard and then meeting him in person I decided to go with DPV for the import of a used vehicle from Japan. Our requirements were quite specific and challenging; we wanted the best car available that could match all wishes (little children so safety, lots of space, sporty, good looking, reliable, fit in the garage with our other car, European brand and built according European standards, a value for money car, low mileage, etc.). We where not the easiest clients I might think.

Richard Bye of DPV managed to buy our perfect car. We are more than happy with our black Mercedes C Class Avantgarde Estate. A lot of space and yet very classy and reliable because it was built in Japan (German standards).

After considering few options, we decided to request DPV to import a vehicle from Japan, and glad we did.

DPV were always very quick to respond our inquiries and requests. DPV was transparent in the process (everything was well explained at the beginning, so no surprise), and we are pleased with the quality of the vehicle they had identified and purchased based on our request. This was our main concern since we could not inspect the vehicle in advance by ourselves, since it is being purchased in Japan. But the purchased vehicle was in a very good condition and we could not ask for more.
We had started the process with DPV as soon as we arrived in Bangkok, but in the end, vehicle was identified, purchased and imported to Bangkok, much faster than we anticipated, without any hassles.

I would definitely go back to DPV if I ever need to import a vehicle again in Thailand.
